The Trail of the Century by French Kicks

This is one of my favorite songs from the past decade.  Something about the feeling I get around the 2:38 mark on. It makes me feel very “ok” with whatever is going to happen.

Caroline Goodbye by French Kicks (originally by Colin Blunstone)

The Zombies were a great band.  Colin is responsible for most of that.  This song has a great hook.  The posted cover version has a lazy approach but somehow gets across a certain sadness that is implicit in the lyrics.  It really doesn’t have the typical French Kicks trademarks—shimmering guitar, cruising falsetto—but you can grab their albums for that.
