1ok2 is playing with the Real World DC band tonight. I did some write ups on select tracks from our EPs.
This is a 3-part concept playlist. You can click the pictures to see the song lists.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars Really liked the writing style but nothing really happened. The characters were well developed and McCarthy painted the landscape beautifully. The main upside to reading this was realizing that the world today (no matter how bad it may seem) is still a beautiful place and we are lucky to live in it. View all my reviews »
Give It Back by Evan Voytas
The chill wave has reached the main land.
Ty White tipped me off to this guy. You can read about him and download a different track for free on Ty’s blog, SumtheGreater.
Just got back from a cruise and this song has that vibe I was feeling on the boat…

Notice how I’m in a womb-like situation here.
Palmitos Park by Ruby Suns (originally by El Guincho)
I don’t know if I like this better than the original; the both are killer. Vocals are very Panda Bear esque.
The main dude moved from CA to New Zealand and started this band. Moving to other countries to start bands is genius.
Quick Canal (w/ Laetitia Sadier) by Atlas Sound
This is off of the new Atlas Sound album (lead by that dude Bradford Cox from Deerhunter). The girl singer on this track is from Stereolab.
I love the groove of this song. Everything comes together perfectly. It makes me want to run underwater on a white, sandy ocean floor with the sun rays barely making it to me below.
